Guinda's ZIP Code is 95637 and its area code 530. It lies at an elevation of 361 feet (110 m). The town was named by Southern Pacific Railroad officials after a cherry tree at the site. Guinda means cherry in Spanish. A post office was opened in the town in 1889.
