Mooresville is the home to the corporate headquarters of Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, and is perhaps best known as the home of many NASCAR racing teams, which earned the city the nickname "Race City USA. " It is also home to NASCAR's NASCAR Technical Institute. The current Mayor of Mooresville is Chris Montgomery. He was elected in November 2009.
