Smith v. Hunt

¶1Although the whole confession must be received and not garbled, yet the jury are not bound to give implicit faith to the whole or any part. Confessions are received just as other evidence, to be considered and weighed, and thereupon to be credited or discredited according to the character, interest and appearances, &c. of the party confessing.
