<bold>[1] Financial Institutions — Deposit Accounts — Joint Account —</bold> <bold>Surviving Joint Tenant — Preexisting Security Agreement.</bold> When a person who owns a certificate of deposit as a joint tenant with right of survivorship dies after unilaterally pledging the certificate as collateral for a loan, the death of the pledging joint tenant extinguishes the security interest and the surviving joint tenant's survivorship interest is not subject to the security interest. PEKELIS, J., did not participate in the disposition of this case.
