COURTS — <italic>Special Findings of Fact — On Request.</italic> — Where neither party requests special findings of fact and conclusions of law the court can hand down its general findings and render judgment thereon. p. 262. 2. DAMAGES — <italic>Defined.</italic> — "Damages" is defined as a sum of money to be paid by one person to another as compensation for a loss sustained by the latter in consequence of an injury committed by the former. p. 262. 3. DAMAGES — <italic>Appeal — No Recount of the Elements.</italic> — Where the damages could possibly consist of many items, the court on review need not recount the elements which might be considered by the court in estimating damages or which might have been considered by the parties when they arrived at the settlement figure. p. 263. 4. APPEAL — <italic>Evidence — Weight and Sufficiency.</italic> — It is only where the evidence is without conflict and can lead to but one conclusion, and the trial court has reached an opposite conclusion, that the decision of the trial court will be set aside on the ground that it is contrary to law. p. 264.
