Most-quoted passages
The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 9 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.
““No authority has been cited ns, and our research has not revealed any, directly holding that intoxication must be specifically alleged as an act of negligence before evidence of that fact may be introduced. When the defendant alleged that the decedent failed to ‘keep a proper or any lookout’ for approaching automobiles, and failed to ‘exercise reasonable or ordinary care for his own safety’, it was not necessary to allege further the probative facts relied upon to show such negligence or want of care.””
