“[t]he [ Miranda ] Court was concerned ... with "incommunicado interrogation of individuals in a police-dominated atmosphere," where the police actively sought to induce a defendant's confession. The Court concluded that in the absence of the now familiar warnings, statements made by a defendant during police custodial interrogation are inadmissible to establish the defendant's guilt.
