¶2I am unable to agree with the majority opinion insofar as it holds that the statutorily required psychiatric examination is not necessary. The observations contained in my dissenting opinion in People v. Mahoney (Ill. App. 4th Dist., No. 11881), 18 Ill.App.3d 518,-N.E.2d -, are applicable here.
