Most-quoted passages
The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 6 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.
“The existence of an attorney-client relationship does not depend on an express contract or the payment of fees, and may be implied from. the parties’ conduct. An attorney-client relationship is established when a party seeks and receives advice and assistance from an attorney on matters pertinent to the legal profession. The existence of an attorney-client relationship turns largely on the client’s subjective belief it exists and looks to the nature of the work- performed and to the circqmstances under which confidences are divulged. The existence of an attorney-client relationship is a question of fact.”
