“The contract between Sokoloff and the bank was to pay rubles at the Petrograd branch whenever he demanded them. They were to be held there, under contract, on his call. Should the bank fail to meet the depositor’s demand . .. the contract would be broken. When the bank ceased to do business so that Sokoloff, who wanted his money, could not make a demand and could not draw upon his account, the contract was broken. The facts, however, cannot escape us.
