“The term “homestead” necessarily includes the idea of a house for residence, either constructed already or in contemplation of construction, accompanied by acts of preparation therefor, (citations omitted) Preparations to improve property for use as a home, accompanied by an intention to make it a homestead, fixes a homestead right in it from that time, (citations omitted).
