EVIDENCE — Evidentiary Harpoon. — An evidentiary harpoon requires a mistrial where it is made by all the circumstances to appear that<page_number>Page 201</page_number> the error placed the accused in a position of grave peril to which he should not have been subjected. The court, in deciding whether an evidentiary harpoon is reversible error or harmless error, must test whether beyond a reasonable doubt the error complained of contributed to the verdict obtained.

1. EVIDENCE — Circumstantial — Sufficient for Conviction — Reasonable Inference. — Circumstantial evidence, standing alone, may be sufficient to support a conviction if it is of such probative value that a reasonable inference of guilt may be drawn therefrom. p. 376. 2. APPEAL — Sufficiency of Evidence — Standard of Review. — This court will neither weigh the evidence nor determine the credibility of witnesses. Only that evidence most favorable to the state and all reasonable inferences to be drawn therefrom will be considered on appeal. If there is substantial evidence of probative value from which the trier of fact could reasonably infer guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, the conviction will be affirmed. p. 376.
