Most-quoted passages

The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 5 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.

  1. “Our review is limited to determining whether there was sufficient evidence from which a reasonable fact-finder could have found Defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. We do not weigh evidence, determine witness credibility, or act as a “super juror” with veto power over the verdicts; but give great deference to the trier of fact. We accept as true the evidence and reasonable inferences favorable to the verdicts and disregard those that are unfavorable. It matters not, in these regards, that the evidence was solely circumstantial. Circumstantial and direct evidence are afforded the same weight. So long as the evidence meets the minimal appellate standard for due process, we need not disturb the verdicts simply because they depended wholly upon circumstantial proof.”
