328 Ark. 145

Jones v. State

Supreme Court of Arkansas

Decided April 14, 1997

Supreme Court of Arkansas · decided 1997-04-14

Relies on Rogers v. State

Decided 1997-04-14

Per Curiam.

¶1Paul Steven Jones, by his attorney, has filed a motion for a belated appeal. His attorney, John F. Gibson, Jr., admits in his motion that the record was tendered late due to a mistake on his part.

¶2We find that such an error, admittedly made by the attorney for a criminal defendant, is good cause to grant the motion. See In re Belated Appeals in Criminal Cases, 265 Ark. 964 (1979) (per curiam).

¶3 The motion is therefore granted. A copy of this opinion will be forwarded to the Committee on Professional Conduct.
