333 So. 2d 924

State v. Senegal

Supreme Court of Louisiana

Decided June 21, 1976

Supreme Court of Louisiana · decided 1976-06-21

Relies on 328 So. 2d 110 - State v. Newton

Decided 1976-06-21

CALOGERO, Justice

¶1(concurring).

¶2In the opinion I authored on the original hearing in State v. Newton, 328 So.2d 110*927(La. 1976) (a position which did not prevail), I expressed my view that the bribery of voter statute, La.R.S. 14:119, is unconstitutional.

¶3Because the constitutionality of the statute was not attacked in the trial court and being of the view that there are no meritorious bills reserved by defendant, I respectfully concur in affirmance of defendant’s conviction.
