<bold>[1] Aliens — Criminal Law — Plea of Guilty — Advisement of</bold> <bold>Consequences — Deportation.</bold> Deportation as a result of a guilty plea is a collateral consequence. The court need not advise a defendant of such a possibility prior to accepting a plea of guilty. <bold>[2] Aliens — Criminal Law — Plea of Guilty — Effective</bold> <bold>Assistance of Counsel — Deportation.</bold> An attorney appointed to represent a criminal defendant need not be concerned with the potential civil procedure of deportation. The defendant has received effective assistance of counsel in entering a guilty plea if counsel advises that deportation is a possibility and urges the defendant to seek legal advice in that regard.
