<bold>[1] Statutes — Construction — Meaning of Words — Absence of</bold> <bold>Statutory Definition.</bold> An undefined word in a statute is given its ordinary meaning, which may be determined by referring to a dictionary definition. <bold>[2] Automobiles — Process — Service — Resident Motorist</bold> <bold>Departing State — Temporary Absence.</bold> For purposes of RCW <cross_reference>46.64.040</cross_reference>, which allows service upon the Secretary of State if the defendant is a resident motorist who departs the state, a resident "departs" the state when he leaves it, regardless of whether his absence is permanent or temporary.
