Most-quoted passages

The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 20 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.

  1. ““Some portion of the attorney’s fee was awarded for the services rendered in enforcing the decree providing periodic payments for support and to that extent was authorized by Rule 308-A. This court lacks authority in this proceeding to review the evidence to determine what portion of the fee could be allocated to that service, and to reform the judgment so that it could be enforced. Since relator would be deprived of his liberty without due process of law if he is held in custody by reason of his refusal to pay the attorney’s fee, that portion of the order must be held unenforceable.””
