Most-quoted passages
The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 5 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.
“Pre-Trial Motions. Any defense, objection, or request which is capable of determination without the trial of the general issue may be raised before trial by motion. Any or all of the following shall be raised prior to trial: (1) Defenses and objections based on defects in the institution of the prosecution; (2) Defenses and objections based on defects in the indictment or information (other than a failure to show jurisdiction in the court or to charge any offense, which objections shall be noticed by the court at any time during pendency of the proceeding); (3) Motions to suppress evidence on the ground that it was illegally obtained; (4) Requests for a severance of charges or defendants under Rule 14.”
