LYONS, Justice

¶1(concurring in the result).

¶2I agree with the main opinion to the extent that it holds that failure to join A.K. as a party to the juvenile court proceeding in Alabama requires the dismissal of the juvenile court proceeding for want of a justiciable controversy. I further agree that this circumstance renders it unnecessary to consider the issue of any conflict with 28 U.S.C. § 1738A(g). I express no opinion on the other matters addressed in the main opinion.
