“[T]he sentencing judge may, indeed must, consider a convicted criminal’s potential for rehabilitation in determining the proper sentence. Here the judge has clearly indicated that it is his belief that only a penitentiary sentence will deter this offender from committing more crimes. Previously, defendant had been sentenced to a period of three years probation for burglary. Within eight months he was involved in another crime. Obviously, the judge found the rehabilitative potential of this defendant weak.
