“The court, by request or on its own motion, may also impose sanctions under La. C.C.P. art. 863. By signing a pleading or verification, a party or attorney certifies that the information in the pleading is ‘well grounded in fact; that it is warranted by existing law or a good faith argument for the extension, modification, or reversal of existing law;> and that it is not interposed for any improp er purpose, such as to harass or to cause unnecessary delay or needless increase in the cost of litigation.’ If the party or attorney violates the provisions of article 863 B, the sanctions may include ‘reasonable expenses incurred because of the filing of the pleading, including a reasonable attorney’s fee.’ (Citations omitted.)”
