Most-quoted passages
The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 7 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.
“Although there are similarities in that both victims were near the same age, they were not both residing in the house; the acts occurred at least four months apart; and, the alleged sexual acts were not particularly similar. One victim related that the defendant had rubbed her “private parts” and on another occasion had “licked her panties.” The other victim testified that the defendant “started kissing her on her forehead and playing with her middle section. We do not agree that this constituted a common scheme or plan nor that the economies of the case would prohibit a severance.”
