“"Before trial, [Mr. Jimenez] had entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm by a fugitive from justice (count 4). Upon [Mr. Jimenez's] conviction of the other charges, the trial justice sentenced him to serve a term of life imprisonment on count 1 with a concurrent ten-year term of imprisonment on count 4.
