Most-quoted passages

The sentences later courts lift from this opinion, ranked by how many decisions quote each — the parts of the opinion doing the work. These counts are smaller than the citation total above because most of the 2 citing decisions cite the case generally; a passage count includes only decisions quoting that exact language verbatim.

  1. ““ * * * his [Clark’s] position appears to be that the counts in issue are limited to a head, with a plurality of gaps, adapted to be used for erase purposes only and are not applicable to a combination or double-purpose head, such as that of Camras. There is nothing in the wording of any of the counts which can be construed as limiting them to a head adapted to be used only as an erase head. The counts are satisfied so long as the head, to which they are applied, has a plurality of gaps and is adapted to have at least a portion of the signal erased at each of the gaps. The counts are not exclusive in nature. We hold that they are applicable to Exhibits 4 and 12 of Camras.””
