A burden, charge, or duty.
Onus probandi
Burden of pro ving; the burden of proof, q. v. The strict meaning of the term onus probandi is, that if no evidence is adduced by the party on whom the burden is cast, the issue must be found against liim.

Oneris ferendi
Of bearing a burden. In the civil law, the name of a servitude by which a wall is bound to sustain the weight of adjoining structures.
Ope et consilio
By aid and counsel. A phrase applied in the civil law to accessories in the commission of crimes, in the same manner as the phrase ' ' aiding and abetting ' ' in the common law. Sometimes used in the form ope consilio.
