Dictionary of Terms and Phrases Used in American or English Jurisprudence

The phrase " to operate on the lands," in a contract regulating the rights of associates in an adventure for purchasing and dealing with a tratt of land, was held to include not only offering the land for sale in parcels, at an advance, but also selling the timber to be cut and removed.
