To place after; to adjourn; to delay. Postponed: adjourned; delayed; set down for a later day. Postponement: an adjournment; a continuance. That a cause submitted on written arguments, upon suggestion of the court, to another judge, is not " postponed," see Eager v. Danforth, 8 How. Pr. 448. A stay of proceedings pending the execution of a commission to take testimony is not a postponement of the cause. Shuielt of the youngest bom; the correlative of primogeniture.
