That you expose for sale. The emphatic clause, and also the name, of a writ of execution commanding the sheriff to expose to sale goods already taken by him under a, fieri facias. According to old English practice, it should issue upon a return by the sherifE that he has taken goods which remain in his hands unsold for lack of buyers. But the proceedings on the various writs of execution are regulated in the United States by the law and practice of each state; and in many of the states the venditioni exponas is not used. The name of the writ is commonly abbreviated to vend. exp.
