Any thing that doth grow and bear a green leaf within the forest. It is divided into over vert and nether vert. Over vert is the great woods, and nether vert is the underwoods. There is also a vert called special vert, which includes all feed the deer. Special vert was so called because the destroying of it was more grievously punished than that of any other vert.
