The walls of a bridge adjoining the land which support the end of the roadway and sustain the arches. See Board of Chosen Freeholders of Sussex County v. Strader, 18 N. J. L. 108, 35 Am. Dec. 530; Bardwell v. Town of Jamaica, 15 Vt. 438. ABUTTALS (Fr.). The buttings or boundings of lands, showing to what other lands, highways, or places they belong or are abutting. Termes de la Ley. It has been used to express the end boundary lines as distinguished from those on the sides, as "buttals and sidings"; Cro. Jac. 183.
