In the civil law. An accessory thing; an incident; a thing which belongs to or is dependent upon another which is its principal. Accessorium non ducit sed seqnitnr suum principale: the incident does not draw but follows its principal. Accessorium non traliit principale: the accessory does not draw the principaL Accessorium sequitur: the accessory follows; — naturam rei cui accidit: the accessory follows the nature of the thing to which it relates; — principale: the incident follows its principal.
