In civil law. To condemn. Calv. Lex. Addictio denotes a transfer of the goods a creditor of his debtor's person by a magistrate; also the transfer of the debtor's goods to one who assumes his liabilities. Also used of an assignment of the person of the debtor to the successful party in a suit.
