The grant of a temporary administration, as during the minority of an executor, is ad usum et commodum executoris. . . . The appointment of an administrator, during the absence of an executor under no disability, is essentially nothing more than the appointment of an agent for that executor. This, the ordinary has not the power to do. The executor alone can appoint his agents.
