*' Taking into protection. The right of presentation to a church or ecclesiastical benefice. Advowsons are (were) appendant, or in gross; and presentative, co Uative, or donative.^ ^DLPICATA. Where the law, or the commor^ law, is ineffectual, equity affords relief, following at the same time the rules of law.8
