Perceived, determined: definite, known, certain.
Certum est quod certum reddi potest
That is certain which can be made certain — or reduced to a certainty. When the law requires certainty, that is accepted for certainty which, by computation or testimony, can be shown to be already certain; as, in questions respecting the_sum to be paid on a negotiable instrument, the liquidation of damages for non-performance of a contract, reasonable time, and the like.*
