A Dictionary of Law

6 The act in a wife of voluntarily leaving her husband to live with, another man. She thereby forfeits her right of dower, unless the offense is condoned. The husband is not liable for her contracts for necessaries, unless, preserving her purity, she has offered to return and he has refused to receive her."' The "leaving" implies a going beyond the husband's actual control. ^
