To reserve, exempt out of; to pi-eserve. Statutes allowing summary convictions " save " the right of trial by jury. A saving totally repugnant to the body of a statute is Void." 2. To suspend the operation of; to bar. The statute of limitations (g. v.) is "saved" when some circumstance prevents the statute from being applied to the case in hand.
