A plank or board. Tabula in naufragio. A plank in a shipwreck: a thing saved out of a general loss. In English law, the right in a third mortgagee, who did not linow of the existence of a second mortgage, to acquh-e the first mortgage, and, by tacking his own to that, to secure satisfaction of both incumbrances before the second received anything.''
