Trouble

See Damages. / In a statute giving a land-owner damages for the " trouble and expense " he is put to by proceedings to lay out a street upon his land, the reference is to trouble from which material and pecuniar.v injury results, involving labor and the expenditure of time, or occasioning inconvenience. Mental trouble, so difficult to estimate by any pecuniary standard, and which may vary in different individuals, according to temperament or health, is not intended.'*
