' To make the subject of litigation; to litigate; to dispute or resist.
Contestable.
Disputable; subject to resistance in a court; opposed to non-contestable.
Contestant.
A litigant; a suitor. To contest an election means to deny the legality thereof; to contest a will, to resist the probate of a writing alleged to be a will, — see Influence; Issue, 3, Feigned. Some policies of insurance, by covenant on the part of the insurer, are not contestable after a certain period, as, three years, for a matter which arose prior to the end of that period.
