Faith; honesty; confidence; trust; veracity; honor, Occurring in the phrase “bona jides;” so, also, “mala fides.” Fides est obligatio conscientie alicujus ad intentionem alterius. Bicon. A trust is an obligation of conscience of one to the will of another, Fides servanda est.
Faith must ba observed
An agent must not violate the confidence reposedin him.

Fides servanda est; simplicitas juris gentium prevaleat. Faith must be kept; the simplicity of the law of nations must prevail. A rule applied to bills of exchange as a sort of sacred instruments.
