A presumption juris et de jure, or an ‘irrebattable presumption, is one which the Jaw will not suffer to be rebutted by any counter-evidence, but establishes as conclusive; while a presumption juris tantwm ia ‘one which holds good in the absence of evi- ‘dence to the contrary, but may be rebutted,
