Anembassy; a diplomatic minister and his suite; the persons commissioned by one government to exercise diplomatie functions at tle court of another, ineluding the minister, secretaries, attaciis, interpreters, etc., are collectively styled the “legation” of their government. The word also denotes the official residence of a foreign ee minister.
