Mintage, or the right of coining money.

Hence, anciently, a tribute payable to a lord who had the prerogative of coining money, by his tenants, in consideration of his retraining from changing the coinage. Mone‘andi jus comprehenditur in regalibus que nunquam a regio sceptro abdicantur. The right of coining money is compreheaded among those royal prerogatives whieh are never relinguished by the royal scepter.
