Lat. A form of the salutatory expression "Ave," used in the titles of some of the constitutions of the Theodoslan and Justinianean codes.

To possess corporally. "No one, at common law, was said to have or to be in possession of land, unless it were conveyed to him by the livery of seisin, which gave him the corporal investiture and bodily occupation thereof."
