Lat Ignorance; want of knowledge. Distinguished from mistake, (error,) or wrong conception.

Divided by Lord Coke into ignorantia foeti (ignorance of fact) and ignorantia juris, (ignoranco of law.) And the former, he adds, is twofold,—lectionis et linguœ, (ignorance of reading and ignorance of language.) 2 Coke, 3b.
