Estoppel by judgment

The estoppel raised by the rendition of a valid judgment by a court having jurisdiction, which prevents the parties to the action, and ali who are in privity with them, from afterwards disputing or drawing into controversy the particular facts or issues on which the judgment was based or which were or might have been litigated in the action.
