It is a maxim of law that words of exemption are not to be construed to import any liability ,v the maxim expressio unius exclusio altenus, or iis converse, exclusio unius inclusio altenus, not applying to such a case. For example, an exemption of the crown from the bankruptcy act 1869, in one specified particular, would not inferentially subject the crown to that act in any other particular.
