Courts established in boroughs under the municipal corporations act (5 & 6 Wm. IV. c. 76, amended by 6 & 7 Wm. IV. c. 105, and 6 & 7 Vict. c. 89). They are held by the recorders of the respective boroughs once a quarter, or oftener if they think fit, and at times to be fixed by them. The jurisdiction is over such offenses as are cognizable by the country sessions, whose powers extend to all boroughs which may not have petitioned for a separate court by virtue of section 103 of the municipal corporations act.
